On Tuesday, November 23rd, Vietnam Veteran Gordon King was presented with a new Hoveround electric mobility chair by the John E. Jacobs American Legion Post 68 of Leland, NC. Post 68 Service Officer Lane Adrian presented the chair to Mr. King at his residence in Delco, NC. Mr. & Mrs. King were very appreciative and made a generous donation to Post 68.
The brand-new chair was donated by a disabled veteran’s widow whose husband passed away shortly before the chair arrived. The widow, who wishes to remain anonymous, informed area veterans’ organizations of her desire to donate the chair to a fellow veteran in need. Post 68 Service Officer Lane Adrian was contacted to join in the search, which identified Mr. King as the eligible recipient.
