Nearly 20 Legion Post 68 officers and members participated in the Post’s unserviceable flag collection event on Friday, August 30, 2024. The Post thanks Nathaniel Ferguson, Leland Lowe’s Store Manager, for providing the site and the 3’x5′ US Cotton grommet flags that were given to people turning in their old flags. Thanks also to Aiden Crofton of Crofton’s Soft Pretzels of Wilmington for donating 75 freshly baked soft pretzels, complimentary to customers stopping by the Post 68 display area, and to Mimi & Papa’s Popcorn of Leland for participating onsite. At day’s end, the Post had collected over 100 unserviceable flags from community members and nearly $300 in donations.
