On Veterans Day, several restaurants near Wilmington, NC, offer free meals or discounts to veterans, including a free sandwich at Mission BBQ, a free meal from a select menu at Applebee’s, a free half-turkey sub and drink at Sheetz, and a free entrée at Hurricane Grill & Wings. Military ID or proof of service is typically required for these deals.

- Hooters: A free meal from a special menu is offered at participating locations, including the one on Market Street in Wilmington.
- Fogo de Chão: Active-duty military and veterans can get 50% off their Churrasco meal, plus 10% off for their guests, with a valid ID from November 7–11.
- Red Robin: Free Red’s Big Tavern Burger with fries for dine-in on Veterans Day.
- San Felipe Mexican Restaurant: Offering a free meal to veterans at their Southport, Leland, and Shallotte locations on Veterans Day.
