POST 68 THANKS WWAY TV3 FOR BLOOD DRIVE SUPPORT

For several years, the John E. Jacobs American Legion Post 68 Leland, in conjunction with the Cape Fear Chapter of the American Red Cross, has hosted multiple highly successful blood drives to help the Red Cross address a critical blood shortage. The events take place in the Community Room within the WWAY TV3 facilities, located in Leland. Throughout this time, local donors, the WWAY staff, and management have been instrumental in ensuring the success of these blood drives. The most recent blood drive on Friday, April 25, was similarly successful.
On the morning of the event, Post 68 leadership and members presented Matt Bennett, WWAY Anchor, Good Morning Carolina, with a plaque of appreciation. Bea Frost, Post Commander, and Jim McAvoy, Post Chaplain and Blood Drive Lead, presented the plaque on behalf of the Post. Post members assisting with the event included Alan Simmons, also representing the Red Cross; John Hacker, 1st Vice Commander; Joe Frost, Finance Officer; Lane Adrian, Post Veterans Service Officer (VSO); and Post members Tom Willis and Ed Grinnell.
