Post 68 Donates to Veterans Day Parade

Each year, the Southeast North Carolina Veterans Parade provides area residents with an opportunity to honor U.S. military veterans. The annual event, held in conjunction with the New Hanover County Veterans Council, was conceived by Marc Biddison, a Vietnam veteran. The parade theme, “Honoring All Who Served,” is a time for the community to honor and thank all veterans from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces for their service. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, 2024, at Hanover and N. Third Streets, in downtown Wilmington, N.C. To learn more or stay abreast of parade events, visit https://www.sencveteransparade.com/ or https://www.facebook.com/SoutheastNCVeteransParade/.
Southeast North Carolina Veterans Parade, a recognized 501(c)(3) charitable organization, depends on public support to make the annual event a reality. Since its inception, John E. Jacobs American Legion Post 68 has been an ardent and visible parade supporter. Recently, Post 68 Commander Bea Frost, presented Verdon James (pictured) a $500 donation check to help defray parade costs. Post 68 will once again participate in this year’s parade.
