NEW HANOVER COUNTY — On Wednesday, a career fair and veteran services event will be hosted at Cape Fear Community College.
The Veteran Stand Down will take place April 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in Union Station (at 502 N. Front St.) on the 5th Floor in Daniels Hall. It is hosted by New Hanover County NCWorks and the Cape Fear Workforce Development Board, with sponsors including CFCC, Lowes Whole Food, Mission BBQ, Krispy Kreme, Yellow Truck Coffee Company, Freedom Sailing, and Hill and Klutch Studio.
There will be resources available to help veterans with benefit services, counseling, employment, health screenings, social services, haircuts and more.
At least 40 employers will be on hand to showcase workforce opportunities. NCWorks will help job seekers with resumes and interviewing skills (contact 910-251-5777). All employment opportunities can be applied for here.
